This week we are happy to announce that Yuanda has signed the contract with Crest Nicholson Operations Limited for the Phase 4b works at Centenary Quay in Woolston. Phase 4B consists of the addition of 157 dwellings in a 27-storey building alongside an extension to the basement car park within Phase 3.
Southampton is located in the south of England. Inhabited since the stone age it now serves as a major port city and is a popular destination for some of the largest cruise ships in the world. Home to a diverse range of nightlife, retail opportunities, leisure, art and heritage attractions this historic city is worth visiting.
To date, the Centenary Quay development has added over 850 new homes to the market. With the upcoming phases set to deliver a total of over 1600 homes. Over one-quarter of the new homes are classed as affordable homes, primarily social rent or part buy/rent.
These homes come as part of the overall Centenary Quay regeneration development project. Investing £500m in the Woolston Waterside, Crest Nicholson Regeneration have planned extensions to riverside walkways, additional public spaces as well as a new supermarket, library, shops, bars and restaurants.
The tower Yuanda in contracted to clad will form one of the tallest buildings in the city and provide spectacular views across the waterfront. This comes as part of Homes England‘s commitment to the growth of a new sustainable community in Southhampton. To further this it will not only provide homes, but employment and leisure opportunities to help the growth of the local economy.
Construction began on the Centenary Quay project in 2009. Phase 4b earthworks commenced late 2018 / early 2019 and are quickly progressing. All of us here at Yuanda are looking forward to delivering the facade component of this project and working together with Crest Nicholson to help grow the community in and around Southampton UK.
