Yuanda UK has the pleasure to announce their appointment by Brookfield Multiplex Construction Europe to carry our the tower facade works to the Old Street Yard, White Collar Factory Project, which is located just north of the City of London. Brookfield was awarded the Main Contract for the project in early 2014 by the developer Derwent London.
The 16-storey White Collar Factory office tower is a new building in the London borough of Islington. The corner site is at the intersection of City Road and Old Street, with frontage on the Old Street roundabout. The White Collar Factory office tower is part of a larger campus including two existing and three new buildings surrounding a public open space, connected to the street via a series of public alleys and passages.
The facades comprise of natural anodised and polyester powder coated untised curtain wall, with both solid insulated profiled metal panels and fixed high performance vision glazing. The system also includes a large number of glazed opening windows, which put building occupants in charge of their environment – providing fresh air and visual connections. At ground level their are bespoke steel framed entrances and fixed glazed facades, incorporating revolving doors, high performance vision glazing and glass channel facades.
At roof level there are timber plant screens around the terraces, which incorporate a running track and external amenity space for the use if the building occupants.
Start on site for the curtain wall package is scheduled for Mid 2015.
